Conflict

The conflict in Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 is Guy Montag against himself. There are two instances when he was clearly against himself. One when he questions happiness. The other time is when he is not sure on the idea of books.

One thing that he was fighting himself against was if he was happy or not. He tells everyone he is happy and why should he not be happy; but after everyone leaves he wonders if he is really happy or not.

When he questions the books, if he should keep and read the books that he has stolen/kept, or should burn them like his wife wants him to do.
